چکیده

The presence of intense magnetic fields in and around sunspots is expected to modify the solar structure and oscillation frequencies. Applying the ring diagram technique to data from the Michelson Doppler Imager (MDI) on board the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO), we analyze the characteristics of high-degree f and p modes near active regions and compare them with the characteristics of the modes in quiet regions. As expected from earlier results, the fand p-mode frequencies of high degree modes are found to be significantly larger in magnetically active regions. In addition, we find that the power in both f and p modes is lower in active regions, while the widths of the peaks are larger, indicating smaller lifetimes. We also find that the oscillation modes are more asymmetric in active regions than those in quiet regions, indicating that modes in active regions are excited closer to the surface. While the increase in mode frequency is monotonic in frequency, all other characteristics show more complex frequency dependences. Subject headings: Sun: oscillations; Sun: activity

Helioseismic ring analysis of CME source regions

We apply the ring diagram technique to source regions of halo coronal mass ejections (CMEs) to study changes in acoustic mode parameters before, during, and after the onset of CMEs. We find that CME regions associated with a low value of magnetic flux have line widths smaller than the quiet regions implying a longer life-time for the oscillation modes. We suggest that this criterion may be used...

زمان میرایی نوسانات عرضی کینک مشاهده شده در حلقه های تاج نواحی فعال با استفاده از تلسکوپ ای آی ای نصب شده بر اس دی او

A coronal loop can be oscillated in various directions. A basic type of coronal loop oscillation is called transverse oscillation that can be caused by different factors, such as nearby active regions and flares. The damping of transverse oscillation may be produced by the dissipation mechanism or the wake of the traveling disturbance. The aim of this paper is to estimate the damping time of tr...

The role of the f-mode in the relation between solar intensity oscillations and granulation

A series of white-light images is used to examine the relation of solar intensity oscillations and the granulation structure. Much of the oscillation power lies on the f-mode ridge in the diagnostic diagram. Filters are constructed to separate granulation, p-modes, and the f-mode. The filtered data are used to investigate the relation between rms-amplitudes of the oscillations and the granulati...

Identifying and Analyzing Stop and Go Traffic based on Asymmetric Theory of Driving Behavior in Acceleration and Deceleration

Stop and go traffic that leads to oscillate traffic flow frequently is observed on congestion flow. Unexpected reasons such as lane – changing maneuvers, lower speeds of leader vehicle and moving bottleneck cause stop and go traffic and amplifying delay and environment impacts. Stop and go traffic exactly can’t be modeled by traffic models, and also car following models based on kinematic flow ...

Ring diagram analysis of near - surface flows in the Sun

Ring diagram analysis of solar oscillation power spectra obtained from MDI data is carried out to study the velocity fields in the outer part of the solar convection zone. The three dimensional power spectra are fitted to a model which has a Lorentzian profile in frequency and which includes the advection of the wave front by horizontal flows, to obtain the two components of the sub-surface flo...
